{"id":11760,"date":"2023-06-02T07:11:46","date_gmt":"2023-06-02T01:41:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=11760"},"modified":"2025-03-30T05:18:01","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T23:48:01","slug":"mission-vatsalya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/mission-vatsalya\/","title":{"rendered":"Mission Vatsalya"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Mission Vatsalya:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Mission Vatsalya Scheme is a roadmap to achieve development and child protection priorities aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/li>\n<li>It lays emphasis on child rights, advocacy and awareness along with strengthening of the juvenile justice care and protection system with the motto to &#8216;leave no child behind&#8217;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Background:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 provisions and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 form the basic framework for implementation of the Mission.<\/li>\n<li>Components under Mission Vatsalya: It include:\n<ul>\n<li>Improve functioning of statutory bodies;<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen service delivery structures;<\/li>\n<li>Upscale institutional care\/services;<\/li>\n<li>Encourage non-institutional community-based care;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>emergency outreach services;<\/li>\n<li>Training and capacity building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The Scheme is implemented as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme since 2021-22.<\/li>\n<li>Nodal Ministry: The Ministry of Women and Child Development.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>About National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an autonomous organisation with its Headquarters in New Delhi.<\/li>\n<li>It functions under the aegis of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.<\/li>\n<li>The objectives of the Institute are:<\/li>\n<li>To develop and promote voluntary action in social development.<\/li>\n<li>To take a comprehensive view of child development and develop and promote programmes in pursuance of the National Policy for Children.<\/li>\n<li>To develop measures for coordination of governmental and voluntary action in social development.<\/li>\n<li>To evolve a framework and perspective for organising children&#8217;s programmes through governmental and voluntary efforts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are Sustainable Development Goals?<\/h3>\n<p>The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, are a set of 17 interconnected goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015.
