It operates as an organisation <strong>of the producers, by the producers, and for the producers<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Supporting institution<\/strong>: The <strong>Small Farmers\u2019 Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC)<\/strong> plays a vital role in promoting FPOs across India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purpose<\/strong>: A PO represents producers of various goods, including <strong>agricultural products<\/strong>, <strong>non-farm items<\/strong>, and <strong>artisan goods<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>It can adopt legal forms such as <strong>producer companies<\/strong>, <strong>cooperative societies<\/strong>, or other entities that allow members to share <strong>profits and benefits<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ownership: <\/strong>The <strong>ownership<\/strong> of an FPO lies entirely with its <strong>member farmers<\/strong>.
