{"id":11841,"date":"2023-06-08T08:22:19","date_gmt":"2023-06-08T02:52:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=11841"},"modified":"2025-03-30T05:46:33","modified_gmt":"2025-03-30T00:16:33","slug":"what-is-bagh-print","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-bagh-print\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Bagh Print?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Bagh Print:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is the name of a <strong>block printing technique<\/strong> <strong>unique<\/strong> <strong>to<\/strong> a small village called <strong>Bagh in Madhya Pradesh.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The craft, as well as the village, <strong>derive their names from the River \u2018Baghini\u2019<\/strong> <strong>that flows through the village<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It was <strong>started by the community of Muslim Khatris<\/strong> (they were converts to Islam under the influence of a sufi saint) <strong>in 1962 when they migrated from Manawar to Bagh<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Weaving and hand block printing<\/strong> process with the <strong>geometric designs<\/strong>, <strong>imaginative use of red and black natural colours<\/strong> and <strong>taking advantage of the chemical properties of the rive<\/strong>r and effective use of colours <strong>results in Bagh Prints in a unique art form.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Features<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>In this printing technique, the <strong>cloth used is cotton and silk cloth<\/strong> which, are <strong>subject to the treatment of a blend of corroded iron fillings, alum<\/strong> and Alizarin.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>designs are patterned by skilled artisans<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>They are <strong>created using natural dyes, which are eco-friendly<\/strong> and non-hazardous.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>On completion of the printing process, the printed fabric is subject to repeated washing in the flowing waters of the river<\/strong> and then <strong>dried in the sun for a specific period to obtain a fine luster<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)\u00a0What is Block Printing?<\/h3>\n<p>Block printing is the process of printing patterns by means of engraved wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing. Block printing by hand is a slow process.
