{"id":11862,"date":"2025-09-26T11:59:31","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T06:29:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=11862"},"modified":"2025-09-26T12:53:42","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T07:23:42","slug":"agni-prime-missile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/agni-prime-missile\/","title":{"rendered":"Agni-Prime Missile"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Agni-Prime Missile Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DRDO in collaboration with the Strategic Forces Command (SFC), has carried out the successful launch of Intermediate Range Agni-Prime Missile from a Rail based Mobile launcher system.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Agni-Prime Missile<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Agni-P is a new generation <\/span><b>nuclear-capable medium-range ballistic missile<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (MRBM).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Agni Prime Ballistic Missile was <\/span><b>tested for the first time in June 2021.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is lighter than any of the previous Agni missiles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Features of<\/b> <b>Agni-Prime Missile<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>two-stage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> canisterised <\/span><b>solid propellant<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ballistic missile.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a <\/span><b>surface-to-surface<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ballistic missile<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Range:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 1000 to 2000 km.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Payload:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Around 1,000 Kg (It can carry high explosive, thermobaric or nuclear warheads).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It incorporates upgrades such as <\/span><b>propulsion systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, composite rocket motor casings, and advanced navigation and guidance systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Agni-Prime may be <\/span><b>launched by train or road and stored<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for an extended period of time.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus far, only <\/span><b>Russia, the US, China,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and possibly North Korea had the capability of launching long range ballistic missiles from rail-based platforms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rail-based mobile launcher is a <\/span><b>first-of-its-kind capability for India.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This launcher can seamlessly move across the rail network without any preconditions and offers cross-country mobility.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is designed to deliver a <\/span><b>quick reaction time, operate with reduced visibility<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and is self-sustained with independent launch features<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also comes fitted with <\/span><b>advanced communication systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and robust protection mechanisms, ensuring reliability even in high-threat environments.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2170979\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agni-Prime Missile, a new generation nuclear-capable medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM).
