\u20b910,000 crore Container Manufacturing Assistance Scheme (CMAS) to strengthen domestic production of shipping containers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Container Manufacturing Assistance Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a targeted initiative to <\/span><b>establish a competitive domestic<\/b> <b>container manufacturing industry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through financial and institutional support.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It supports establishment of <\/span><b>new manufacturing facilities and expansion of existing units.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also aims to <\/span><b>enhance manufacturing capacity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to meet India&#8217;s growing demand for shipping containers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Target:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The initiative targets an annual domestic manufacturing capacity <\/span><b>of around 10 times<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the existing container production capacity <\/span><b>upto 7.5 lakh Twenty-foot Equivalent Units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (TEUs).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Financial Outlay:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u20b910,000 crore over five years.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To strengthen the container <\/span><b>manufacturing value chain, the scheme provides:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Capital assistance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for establishing new Greenfield manufacturing facilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Support for expansion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of existing Brownfield manufacturing units.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Operational support<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to improve the competitiveness of domestic container manufacturing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support for <\/span><b>testing infrastructure, skilling initiatives and capacity building.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CMAS complements the Government&#8217;s initiatives under Make in India,<\/span><b>Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, PM Gati Shakti, the <a
