Matru Vandana Yojana"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of Women and Child Development has extended the special registration drive for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) till 15 August, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a<\/span><b> centrally sponsored scheme under Mission Shakti\u2019s sub-scheme &#8216;Samarthya&#8217;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, providing<\/span><b> direct financial assistance through <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Direct Benefit Transfer <\/span><b>(DBT) mode.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is designed to<\/span><b> support pregnant women and lactating mothers.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme is to provide <\/span><b>maternity benefits to women <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">belonging to <\/span><b>socially and economically disadvantaged sections<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of society.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to improve health-seeking behaviour among pregnant women and lactating mothers and ensure<\/span><b> better maternal and child health outcomes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Benefits:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under PMMVY, a cash incentive of <\/span><b>Rs 5,000 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is provided in <\/span><b>two installments directly to the bank<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\/post office account of pregnant women and lactating mothers <\/span><b>for the first child <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the family.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The eligible beneficiaries also <\/span><b>receive the remaining cash incentive<\/b> <b>as per <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">approved norms towards Maternity Benefit under <\/span><b>Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">after institutional delivery<\/span><b> so that, on average, a beneficiary gets Rs 6,000.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cash incentive of <\/span><b>Rs 6,000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is also provided <\/span><b>under PMMVY<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to eligible beneficiaries<\/span><b> for a second child subject to the second child being a girl.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>In case of miscarriage\/stillbirth<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>beneficiary<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> would be <\/span><b>treated as a fresh beneficiary in the event of any future pregnancy.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>implementation <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Scheme is done <\/span><b>by officials of States and UTs through their field functionaries using<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the new Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana Software <\/span><b>(PMMVYSoft)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that was launched in March, 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under PMMVYSoft<\/span><b>, Aadhaar authentication through UIDAI is done digitally,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>National Payment Corporations of India (NPCI) verification is ensured <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so that funds are directly transferred to their DBT-enabled Aadhaar-seeded bank or post office accounts.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>criteria for determining socially and economically disadvantaged sections<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of society will be the following:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women belonging to <\/span><b>scheduled castes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>scheduled tribes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women who are <\/span><b>partially (40%) or fully disabled<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Divyang Jan)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women holder of <\/span><b>BPL ration Card<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Women beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PMJAY)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under Ayushman Bharat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women holding <\/span><b>E-shram card<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women farmers who are <\/span><b>beneficiaries under Kishan Samman Nidhi<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women holding <\/span><b>MGNREGA Job Card<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women whose<\/span><b> net family income is less than Rs. 8 Lakh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> per annum<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pregnant and <\/span><b>Lactating AWWs\/AWHs\/ASHAs<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any other category as may be prescribed by the Central Government<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Further, all pregnant women and lactating mothers in <\/span><b>regular employment<\/b> <b>with <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>central Government or State Government <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or Public Sector Undertaking <\/span><b>or those who are in receipt of similar benefits<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under any law for
