those entering through land borders.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Expansion of E-Visa Entry Points<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has added 11 international ports, including 2 airports and 9 land ports, for entry of foreign nationals holding valid Indian e-Visas.<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The newly added airports are <\/span><b>Bhopal and Tirupati.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The newly added land ports are <\/span><b>Agartala, Darranga, Gede, Ghojadanga, Haridaspur, Jaigaon, Dawki, Moreh and Attari (Road)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India now has 37 airports, 38 seaports and 13 land ports where e-Visa holders can enter the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>E-Visa Facility in India<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India\u2019s <\/span><b>e-Visa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is an <\/span><b>electronic visa facility<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that <\/span><b>allows eligible foreign nationals to obtain permission to travel to India through an online application process<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, reducing the need for conventional visa procedures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>India introduced the e-Visa facility along with Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) in 2014<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to liberalise, streamline and simplify the visa regime, facilitate legitimate foreign travellers and strengthen technological infrastructure for enhanced internal security.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initially available to nationals of 43 countries, the <\/span><b>e-Visa facility is now available to citizens of 172 countries.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>covers 17 sub-categories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including tourist, mountaineering, business, medical, student, transit and miscellaneous visas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Around 95% of e-Visa applications are processed within 72 hours<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, according to the government.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The online system makes the visa application process more convenient and reduces procedural requirements for eligible travellers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:
