Before the ministerial meeting, officials and experts discuss issues and these discussions provide the technical groundwork for cooperation and decisions at the ministerial level. Under India\u2019s 2026 Chairship, it focuses on building a resilient, secure and inclusive digital future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>BRICS ICT Track 2026<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is being organised in Pune from 17-21 August 2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From 17-19 August, the <\/span><b>BRICS Working Group on Cooperation in ICTs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 discussed future networks, Digital Public Infrastructure, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On 20 August, the <\/span><b>Digital BRICS Forum and Expo <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">brought together governments, industry, startups and experts to showcase technologies and exchange ideas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India also proposed <\/span><b>BRICS Capacity Building Centres<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to support technical training, skilling, knowledge sharing and capacity development in emerging technologies<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On 21 August, the <\/span><b>12th BRICS Communications Ministers\u2019 Meeting<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will take these discussions to the ministerial level.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Why is the 12th BRICS Communications Ministers Meeting being held?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>rapid expansion of digital technologies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has created new opportunities for economic development, but it has also<\/span><b> increased challenges related to <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/cyber-security\/\" target=\"_blank\">cybersecurity<\/a>, digital exclusion, technological dependence and the resilience of communication networks.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>meeting trustworthy digital ecosystems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Emerging Technologies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Strengthening cooperation in new and
