{"id":12082,"date":"2023-06-12T05:34:16","date_gmt":"2023-06-12T00:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=12082"},"modified":"2025-03-30T07:13:31","modified_gmt":"2025-03-30T01:43:31","slug":"y-9dz-electronic-warfare-aircraft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/y-9dz-electronic-warfare-aircraft\/","title":{"rendered":"Y-9DZ Electronic Warfare Aircraft"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Y-9DZ Electronic Warfare Aircraft:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Y-9DZ is <strong>China\u2019s newly developed electronic warfare version of the Y-9 aircraft<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It is a <strong>medium-range, medium-sized tactical transport aircraft manufactured by the Shaanxi Aircraft Company.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Y-9DZ was <strong>initially spotted in 2017<\/strong>, and China <strong>officially unveiled<\/strong> this aircraft <strong>in 2019,<\/strong> along with another electronic warfare variant known as the Y-9G.<\/li>\n<li>The Y-9DZ variant is the <strong>most advanced intelligence-gathering aircraft developed by China.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This aircraft is <strong>capable of flying various special missions<\/strong>, including electronic intelligence, communication jamming, psychological operations missions and even surveillance missions during search and rescue operations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Features:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It features <strong>state-of-the-art sensors and communication systems.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Y-9DZ boasts <strong>two large rectangular-shaped ESM\/ELINT<\/strong> (Electronic Support Measures and Electronic Intelligence) <strong>antennas on each side of the rear fuselage<\/strong> and a <strong>range of other antennas strategically placed<\/strong> throughout the aircraft.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>An <strong>oval dish-shaped ESM antenna is positioned atop the vertical fin<\/strong>, while a <strong>SATCOM antenna<\/strong> sits on the mid-fuselage.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Presence of pipe-shaped antennas<\/strong> on the fuselage side suggests their purpose <strong>may be related to PSYOP operations<\/strong> (psychological operations).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)\u00a0What is electronic-warfare?<\/h3>\n<p>Electronic Warfare (EW) represents the ability to use the electromagnetic spectrum\u2014signals such as radio, infrared, or radar\u2014to sense, protect, and communicate.
