Board of India (SEBI) has introduced an Information Technology Resilience Index (ITRI) for market infrastructure institutions (MIIs).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Information Technology Resilience Index<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is introduced to <\/span><b>assess the functioning and resilience of information technology<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> systems of <\/span><b>market infrastructure institutions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (MIIs), including <\/span><b>stock exchanges, depositories and clearing corporations.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an initiative of the<\/span><b> Securities and Exchange Board of India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Aim:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is aimed at <\/span><b>strengthening oversight of the resilience of IT systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and identifying emerging weaknesses at an early stage, so that timely corrective measures can be taken.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Features of IT Resilience Index<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Parameters:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The ITRI will be computed using a <\/span><b>uniform set of nine parameters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, each <\/span><b>carrying a specific weightage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to ensure comparability across MIIs.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These parameters are namely availability, security, integrity, governance, reliability and monitoring, business continuity, modularity and flexibility, scalability, and other relevant factors.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Weightage: Availability and security<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will carry the <\/span><b>highest weightage of 20 per cent each<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, followed by integrity, governance, reliability and monitoring, business continuity, and modularity and <\/span><b>flexibility at 10 per cent each.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MIIs would be required to <\/span><b>calculate the index<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on a <\/span><b>half-yearly basis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> within 60 days of the end of each half-year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They would also have to submit a <\/span><b>comparative analysis of two consecutive half-years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on a rolling basis, along with details of corrective actions taken or proposed, to their <\/span><b>Standing Committee on Technology (SCOT) and governing boards.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MIIs will also develop an <\/span><b>Early Warning System (EWS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) to detect any deterioration in ITRI parameters that could potentially lead to performance issues, system slowness or other disruptions, and take remedial
