{"id":12150,"date":"2023-06-17T06:27:11","date_gmt":"2023-06-17T00:57:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=12150"},"modified":"2025-03-30T07:39:26","modified_gmt":"2025-03-30T02:09:26","slug":"international-north-south-transport-corridor-instc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/international-north-south-transport-corridor-instc\/","title":{"rendered":"International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>INSTC is a <strong>multi-modal transportation route<\/strong> <strong>linking the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf to the Caspian Sea<\/strong> <strong>via Iran and onward to northern Europe<\/strong> via St. Petersburg <strong>in Russia.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The corridor <strong>includes seaports<\/strong> on the Persian Gulf and in the Caspian region, <strong>as well as road and rail routes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim: <\/strong>The main purpose of the corridor was to <strong>reduce carriage costs and transit time between India and Russia.<\/strong> The transit time is <strong>expected to reduce to almost half<\/strong>, once the corridor becomes fully functional.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Development<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>It was <strong>first mooted in 2000<\/strong>.
