is impermissible, and directing India to halt construction at the Ratle Hydroelectric Project.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India rejected the Court&#8217;s legitimacy entirely, setting the stage for a prolonged, unresolved standoff.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>The Latest Rulings<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PCA ruled India&#8217;s decision to put the Treaty in abeyance was <\/span><b>not permissible<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the Treaty or international law \u2014 meaning the Treaty remains fully in force.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It directed India to halt construction at the Ratle Hydroelectric Project until the technical dispute is resolved.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the fourth award from the Court, all favouring Pakistan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Court, constituted in September 2022, has previously declared itself <\/span><b>competent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to adjudicate and held its decisions &#8220;<\/span><b>final and binding<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this order, the Court has likely completed its work, having addressed all issues raised by Pakistan.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Why India Rejects the Court<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India calls the Court <\/span><b>illegally-constituted<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, alleging it was set up by the World Bank in breach of Treaty terms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A neutral expert <\/span><b>had already been appointed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to adjudicate the same issue;
