Radhakrishnan recently released the \u2018Mission Rangeen Machhli 2031\u2019 Strategic Action Plan for Ornamental Fisheries Development at a Fisheries Outreach Programme in Agatti. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Mission Rangeen Machhli 2031<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>Strategic Action Plan for Ornamental Fisheries Development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> aimed at providing a more <\/span><b>organised and scientific approach<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to India\u2019s <\/span><b>ornamental fisheries sector.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative is under the Department of Fisheries, <\/span><b>Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry &amp; Dairying,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Government of India.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will establish<\/span><b> uniform operating procedures and management standards<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the ornamental fish industry nationwide.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The strategic action plan covers the<\/span><b> entire supply chain,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from breeding and hatchery work through to sale in aquariums and export.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Standard procedures for breeding, hatchery operations, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and production systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Rules for quarantine, animal health checks, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and disease management.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Quality assurance <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and biosecurity standards across all operations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Certification and traceability systems <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to track fish from farm to market.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guidelines for handling, transport, and trade of ornamental species.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The plan will also<\/span><b> build skills <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">among farmers and traders,<\/span><b> improve product quality, help businesses get certified<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for international markets, and support the sector to grow in an organised and competitive way globally.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Focus Area:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Lakshadweep<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been identified as a dedicated seaweed cluster for cultivation and processing.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
