The event will bring together global companies, policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, startups, students and semiconductor ecosystem partners.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is SEMICON India 2026?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>SEMICON India 2026 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a major semiconductor and electronics industry event jointly organised by the India Semiconductor Mission, Ministry of Electronics &amp; Information Technology and SEMI. It will provide a platform for investment, manufacturing, innovation, policy dialogue, supply chain partnerships and talent development. The event aims to strengthen India\u2019s position in the global semiconductor and electronics ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>SEMICON India Theme 2026<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The official theme of <\/span><b>SEMICON India 2026 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is <\/span><b><i>\u201cSilicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem\u201d<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The theme reflects India\u2019s effort to develop a complete semiconductor value chain covering design, manufacturing, packaging, supply chains, research, innovation, skills and electronic systems. The event will also introduce a <\/span><b>\u201cSand to Silicon to Systems\u201d Value Chain Experience <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to showcase this wider ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>SEMICON India 2026 Background<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India\u2019s semiconductor programme has expanded through policy support, approved projects, design initiatives and international industry participation. The fifth edition reflects the shift from ecosystem building towards commercial production and broader value chain development.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Semicon India Programme: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The India Semiconductor Mission is implementing the Semicon India Programme to develop a strong and resilient semiconductor and display ecosystem in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Semicon 1.0 Projects: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twelve semiconductor projects were approved under Semicon 1.0. These projects represent combined investments of more than Rs 1.64 lakh crore across Gujarat, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/india-semiconductor-mission-2-0\/\" target=\"_blank\">Semicon 2.0<\/a>: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Union Cabinet approved Semicon 2.0 on 15 July with an outlay of Rs 1,27,500 crore.
