{"id":12290,"date":"2026-06-19T11:41:59","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T06:11:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=12290"},"modified":"2026-06-19T13:05:35","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T07:35:35","slug":"exercise-khaan-quest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/exercise-khaan-quest\/","title":{"rendered":"Exercise Khaan Quest"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Exercise Khaan Quest Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Indian Army contingent is set to depart to participate in the multilateral joint military exercise &#8211; Exercise KHAAN QUEST.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Exercise Khaan Quest<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>annual<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>multinational joint military exercise.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>hosted by the Mongolian Armed Forces <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>co-sponsored by the U.S. Pacific Command.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to enhance interoperability and cooperation among participating militaries in <\/span><b>peace support operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will enable the participating countries to share their best practices in tactics, techniques, and procedures for the conduct of joint operations.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Background<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exercise first <\/span><b>started as a bilateral event between the USA and Mongolian Armed Forces i<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n the year <\/span><b>2003<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subsequently, from the year <\/span><b>2006 onwards, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the exercise graduated to a <\/span><b>multinational peacekeeping exercise.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><b> last edition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Exercise KHAAN QUEST was conducted in <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/mongolia\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mongolia<\/a> in 2025.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>2026 Edition:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>23rd iteration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the exercise.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is scheduled to be held from 20 June to 3 July at the <\/span><b>Five Hills Training Area in Ulaanbaatar (capital of Mongolia).\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Indian Army contingent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> comprises 40 personnel, including <\/span><b>troops from a battalion of the JAT Regiment <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and personnel from other Arms and Services.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exercise will focus on the conduct of joint planning and tactical drills such as establishment of static and mobile checkpoints, cordon and search operations, patrolling, evacuation of civilians from hostile areas, counter improvised explosive device drills, combat first aid, and casualty evacuation.\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>News: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2274656&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Exercise Khaan Quest is an annual, multinational joint military exercise.
