This made <\/span><b>unique designs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that<\/span><b> looked like ropes or cords.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>German archaeologist named Friedrich Klopfleisch first used this name <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in 1883.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Archaeologists <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have<\/span><b> found very few settlements <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Corded Ware culture. This <\/span><b>led to the idea that they were mostly nomadic herders, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">like the Yamnaya culture.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, <\/span><b>some evidence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shows they also did some <\/span><b>farming<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>Traces of wheat and barley <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have been found at a<\/span><b> Corded Ware site in Poland<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also <\/span><b>used wheeled vehicles, probably pulled by oxen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, continuing a practice from earlier cultures.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Other names <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for groups within this culture include the <\/span><b>Single Grave culture<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This name <\/span><b>comes from their burial custom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of<\/span><b> burying people alone under small mounds.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Battle Axe culture, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or <\/span><b>Boat Axe culture,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is another name.
