{"id":12334,"date":"2023-06-22T02:34:04","date_gmt":"2023-06-21T21:04:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=12334"},"modified":"2025-03-30T08:46:20","modified_gmt":"2025-03-30T03:16:20","slug":"deendayal-antyodaya-yojana-national-urban-livelihoods-mission-day-nulm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/deendayal-antyodaya-yojana-national-urban-livelihoods-mission-day-nulm\/","title":{"rendered":"Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About the UNDP and DAY-NULM partnership:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Aim:<\/strong> To <strong>empower women<\/strong> to make <strong>well-informed career choices<\/strong> in the field of entrepreneurship.<\/li>\n<li>It will provide support for women looking to start and expand their enterprises such as the <strong>care economy, digital economy, electric mobility, waste management, food packaging<\/strong> and more.<\/li>\n<li>Focused on fostering entrepreneurship development and accelerating enterprise growth.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Time-Period:<\/strong> It is a <strong>three-year project, extendable beyond 2025<\/strong> which will cover eight cities in the initial phase.<\/li>\n<li>UNDP will offer national-level capacity-building support to DAY-NULM.<\/li>\n<li>This support will focus on knowledge generation and management, such as compiling compendiums of best practices related to urban poverty, to enhance the implementation of national-level schemes.<\/li>\n<li>UNDP will also contribute to the initiative by <strong>developing community business mentors called Biz-Sakhis<\/strong> in selected project locations.<\/li>\n<li>These mentors, who possess valuable business knowledge, can support new and existing enterprises, and serve as a resource for DAY-NULM at a later stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Key facts about the DAY-NULM<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a flagship mission under the Union <strong>Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It has the aim to uplift the urban poor by enhancing <strong>sustainable livelihood opportunities through skill development.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding:<\/strong> It will be shared between the Centre and the States in the ratio of 75:25. For North Eastern and Special Categories \u2013 the ratio will be 90:10.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Entrepreneurship?<\/h3>\n<p>Entrepreneurship refers to the activity of identifying, creating, and managing a business or venture with the aim of making a profit.
