style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diplodocus belongs to a group of <\/span><b>enormous dinosaurs called sauropods<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>sauropods <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">were <\/span><b>large, plant-eating dinosaurs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with <\/span><b>long necks, massive bodies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and<\/span><b> four pillar-like legs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to support the body.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>longest complete dinosaur<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diplodocus <\/span><b>lived <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">during the<\/span><b> Late Jurassic, 155-145 million years ago<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Remains <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of this dinosaur have been <\/span><b>found in North America<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, especially in Colorado, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Recently<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, fossils have been recently <\/span><b>discovered in Europe.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diplodocus <\/span><b>lived in meadows where plants grew thic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">k and at the edges of forests and other areas where many trees grew.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Diplodocus <\/b><b>Features<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diplodocus measured up to 90 feet (27 meters) long and stood about 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall at the hips.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>lightweight among the sauropod <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dinosaurs, Diplodocus weighed only about 30 tons.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>unique, hollow structure of its backbones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> helped this animal to be so light.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It had a <\/span><b>long neck<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a <\/span><b>very long tail.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diplodocus had a s<\/span><b>mall, horselike head<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a <\/span><b>very small brain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It had <\/span><b>peg-shaped teeth<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the front of its mouth.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its <\/span><b>back legs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were <\/span><b>slightly longer than its front <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">legs, making the <\/span><b>animal slope downward<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from its hips to its head.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diplodocus had elephantlike feet with three claws on each back foot.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>One section of its tail bones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> featured a <\/span><b>pair of anvil-shaped projections on the underside of each bone<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in that section.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scientists believe that <\/span><b>these bones served as protection for the blood vessels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and tissues of the tail. <\/span><b>These are the \u201cdouble beams<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d for which the dinosaur is
