part of its deployment under the Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About INS Sunayna<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>second Saryu-class offshore patrol vessel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Indian Navy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was designed and constructed indigenously <\/span><b>by the Goa Shipyard Limited.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was commissioned at <\/span><b>Kochi on 15th October 2013.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is based under <\/span><b>Southern Naval Command.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Functions:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is designed to undertake fleet support operations, <\/span><b>coastal and offshore patrolling, ocean surveillance and monitoring of sea lines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of communications and offshore assets, and escort duties.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of INS Sunayna<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Propulsion:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Two diesel engines propel INS Sunayna and enable it to achieve speeds in <\/span><b>excess of 25 knots.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship also has an <\/span><b>automatic power management system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and is fitted with the latest navigation, communication, and electronic support systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Armament:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The armament fit includes one 76 mm gun with an <\/span><b>electro-optic fire control system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Close-in Weapon Systems (CIWS) and CHAFF launchers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li
