Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026<\/b> has started across India from <\/span>17 September 2026<\/b>. The campaign will continue until <\/span>17 October 2026<\/b> and focuses on making cleanliness a shared responsibility through active participation by citizens, institutions, local bodies and government agencies.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Swachhata Hi Seva<\/b> is an annual cleanliness campaign that brings together citizens, government institutions, local bodies, schools, youth groups and other organisations for voluntary cleanliness activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign has been organised annually since <\/span>2017<\/b>. In 2026, the focus has expanded beyond one-time cleanliness drives to include <\/span>behavioural change, scientific waste management, safety and dignity of sanitation workers, youth participation and waste-to-wealth initiatives<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign follows a <\/span>Whole of Government and Whole of Society approach<\/b>, meaning that cleanliness is treated as a collective responsibility rather than the responsibility of a single department or local authority.<\/span><\/p>\n

Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026 Theme<\/b><\/h2>\n

The theme of the campaign is: <\/span>\u201cSwachhata Mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat<\/a>, Viksit Bharat<\/a>\u201d. <\/b>The theme places <\/span>Jan Bhagidari<\/b><\/a>, or people’s participation, at the centre of the campaign. It seeks to encourage citizens to take ownership of cleanliness in their homes, neighbourhoods, workplaces, schools and public spaces.<\/span><\/p>\n

Five Key Pillars of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026<\/b><\/h2>\n

Swachhata Hi Seva 2026<\/b> campaign is built around five key pillars that focus on <\/span>cleanliness, public participation, youth engagement, sanitation worker welfare and waste management<\/b>. Together, these pillars aim to promote <\/span>sustained cleanliness<\/b> through a Whole of Government and Whole of Society approach.<\/span><\/p>\n
