Sapru and Dr. H.N. Kunzru<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to create an Indian perspective on international relations and foreign policy issues.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was registered as a <\/span><b>non-official, non-political and non-profit organisation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the <\/span><b>Registration of Societies Act 1860.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By an <\/span><b>Act of Parliament in 2001<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Indian Council of World Affairs has been declared an <\/span><b>institution of national importance.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Vice President of India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the <\/span><b>ex-officio President of ICWA.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>funded by the Ministry of External Affairs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and enjoys full autonomy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Functions: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is devoted exclusively for the<\/span><b> study<\/b> <b>of international relations and foreign affairs.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2310401&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indian Council of World Affairs was established in 1943 by a group of Indian intellectuals as a think tank.
