The Centre opposed her impleadment plea, while the court allowed three days for its response and noted her administrative experience could assist in examining wider public interest issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Kiran Bedi Biography<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Kiran Bedi <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was born as Kiran Peshawaria to Prakash Lal Peshwaria and Prem Lata Peshwaria on 9 June 1949 in Amritsar. She was the second of four daughters. Her education, sports career and public service later shaped her work in policing and social reform.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Early Education: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She studied at Sacred Heart Convent School, Amritsar and completed a B.A. Honours in English from Government College for Women, Amritsar, in 1968.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Higher Education: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She earned an M.A. in Political Science from Panjab University in 1970. She later completed an LL.B. in 1988 and a Ph.D. in Social Science from IIT Delhi in 1993.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Teaching Career: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before joining the police service, Kiran Bedi worked as a lecturer at Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar, from 1970 to 1972.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Tennis Career: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kiran Bedi started playing tennis at nine.
