They stood strong for 3 long years, and then the <\/span><b>British took over the fort in the First Anglo-Maratha War.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Vasai Fort <\/b><b>Architecture<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fort covers an area of around 110 acres.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Surrounded by the sea on three side<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s and protected by a strategically designed moat on the landward side, its defenses were nearly impenetrable.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fort\u2019s walls, stretching over 4.5 kilometers, are fortified with eleven towering bastions, each echoing the echoes of battles fought long ago.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within its expanse, remnants of once-majestic churches,<\/span><b> intricate archway<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s, and <\/span><b>Portuguese-style facades<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> still stand, albeit weathered by time.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Three old churches<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are recognisable in the fort.
