text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is located in the Chandrapur district in <\/span><b>Maharashtra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>largest and oldest tiger reserve in Maharashtra.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It covers an area of 1,727 sq.km.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Established in 1955, the reserve consists of <\/span><b>Tadoba National Park and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><b> word \u2018Tadoba\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is derived from the name of the <\/span><b>God \u201cTadoba\u201d or \u201cTaru,\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which is <\/span><b>praised by local tribal people<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of this region, and \u201c<\/span><b>Andhari<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d is derived from the name of the <\/span><b>Andhari River <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that flows in this area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has<\/span><b> corridor linkages with Nagzira-Navegaon and Pench Tiger Reserves <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">within the State.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has a hilly topography with an average elevation of 200\u2013350 metres.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Drainage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: There are two lakes and one waterway in the reserve: <\/span><b>Tadoba Lake, Kolsa Lake, and the Tadoba River.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vegetation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Biogeographically, the reserve falls in the <\/span><b>Central plateau province of the Deccan peninsula<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with<\/span><b> tropical dry deciduous forests<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a <\/span><b>typical Central Indian faunal assemblage.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Flora<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: It is blessed with <\/span><b>thick forests covered with teak trees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and other vegetation such as <\/span><b>crocodile bark, salai, tendu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, karaya gum, and mahua madhuca.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fauna<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apart from <\/span><b>tigers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the reserve is home to <\/span><b>Indian leopards, sloth bears, Indian gaur<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (bison), wild dogs (dholes), striped hyenas, <\/span><b>marsh crocodiles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, sambar deer, chital (spotted deer), barking deer, and <\/span><b>four-horned antelopes (chousingha).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
