The Games have evolved significantly since their beginning in 1951.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Early Origins:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The idea of an Asian multi-sport event was influenced by the <\/span><b>Far Eastern Championship Games (1913)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>West Asian Games (1934)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>1948 Initiative:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> During the <\/span><b>1948 London Olympics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Asian representatives discussed creating a larger sporting event for Asian countries.
