An AAF means that a prohibited substance or its marker has been detected in an athlete\u2019s sample and the finding is then examined under the anti-doping process.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2026, <\/span><b>Uttar Pradesh and Punjab recorded 13 AAFs each<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, followed by Madhya Pradesh with 11 and Karnataka with 9.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2024, <\/span><b>athletics recorded the highest number of positive cases at 76<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, followed by weightlifting with 43 and wrestling with 29.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The government has been strengthening anti-doping measures through testing, athlete education, awareness programmes and enforcement under the national anti-doping framework.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is
