{"id":126191,"date":"2026-09-25T12:55:53","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T07:25:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=126191"},"modified":"2026-09-25T12:55:53","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T07:25:53","slug":"deen-dayal-upadhyaya-grameen-kaushalya-yojana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/deen-dayal-upadhyaya-grameen-kaushalya-yojana\/","title":{"rendered":"Deen Dayal Upadhyaya- Grameen Kaushalya Yojana"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Deen Dayal Upadhyaya- Grameen Kaushalya Yojana Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of Rural Development is set to roll out Deen Dayal Upadhyaya- Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0 training batches across most of the States\/UTs from October 2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Deen Dayal Upadhyaya- Grameen Kaushalya Yojana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>Centrally Sponsored Scheme<\/b> <b>launched on 25 September 2014<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>provides placement linked skill training<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to poor rural youth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ministry of Rural Development<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Key Features<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Target:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It has been providing <\/span><b>placement-linked skill training<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to rural <\/span><b>youth aged 15-35 years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from poor households.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Social Inclusion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: It also <\/span><b>promotes social inclusion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through mandatory coverage of <\/span><b>SC\/ST communities (50%), women (33%), and persons with disabilities <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(5%).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Government notified the <\/span><b>upgraded DDU-GKY 2.0 Guidelines in May 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the framework provides training across multiple sectors based on industry requirements, including <\/span><b>aerospace and aviation, agriculture, beauty and wellness, green jobs, healthcare, textiles, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and others.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Initiatives under DDU-GKY 2.0<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Roshni<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It addresses the <\/span><b>specific needs of <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/left-wing-extremism\/\" target=\"_blank\">Left-Wing Extremism<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/left-wing-extremism\/\" target=\"_blank\"> (LWE)<\/a><\/strong>-affected districts notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It mandates <\/span><b>residential skill training, with 40% coverage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for women candidates. The initiative has been <\/span><b>extended to <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/aspirational-district-programme\/\" target=\"_blank\">Aspirational Districts<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, focusing on local infrastructure, education, health, natural resources, and traditional skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Himayat<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a special DDU-GKY <\/span><b>scheme for Jammu &amp; Kashmir and Ladakh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
