{"id":126351,"date":"2026-09-26T13:34:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-26T08:04:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=126351"},"modified":"2026-09-26T13:34:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-26T08:04:14","slug":"mission-pegase-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/mission-pegase-26\/","title":{"rendered":"Mission Pegase 26"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Mission Pegase 26 Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of Mission P\u00e9gase 26, the French Air and Space Force recently deployed four Rafale F4 fighters, three A330 MRTT Ph\u00e9nix multi-role tanker transport aircraft, and two A400M Atlas aircraft to Jodhpur.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Mission Pegase 26<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>seventh edition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of <\/span><b>France&#8217;s long-range air projection exercise.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is being conducted from September 8 to October 15.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Distance: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More than <\/span><b>40,000 kilometres\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Force<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Around <\/span><b>300 personnel, four Rafale F4 fighters, three A330 MRTT Ph\u00e9nix multi-role tanker transport aircraf<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">t, two <\/span><b>A400M Atlas aircraft.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Route<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Greenland, Canada, Alaska, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, India, Qatar, R\u00e9union, and then Egypt.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pegase 26 is following a route <\/span><b>linking<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>Arctic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/indo-pacific-region\/\" target=\"_blank\">Indo-Pacific<\/a>,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Middle East.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stated aims: Operational readiness, strategic partnerships, freedom of air navigation.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India is a key stop on the Indo-Pacific leg of Pegase 26.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>In India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the French contingent will <\/span><b>participate in Tarang Shakti.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Exercise Tarang Shakti 2026<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>multinational air combat exercise hosted <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the <\/span><b>Indian Air Force (IAF).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Venue<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Air Force Station, <\/span><b>Jodhpur, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and adjoining air bases.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the<\/span><b> second edition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the exercise. The maiden edition of the exercise took place in August-September 2024 in two phases.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Participating Countries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><b>Seven foreign air forces<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014from the <\/span><b>U.S., France, Germany, Australia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>UAE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014are participating,\u00a0 while 32 nations will be attending as observers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is aimed at enhancing interoperability among participating air forces, while providing a platform for exchanging operational experience and showcasing India\u2019s air combat capabilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exercise will see the participation of advanced combat aircraft, including the <\/span><b>U.S. Air Force\u2019s F-35, the French Rafale,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>UAE\u2019s F-16,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a <\/span><b>Bangladeshi C-130J.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>IAF <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will field a range of its frontline platforms, including the Rafale, Mirage-2000, Jaguar, Tejas, MiG-29, and Su-30MKI.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>News: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/french-rafales-mrtts-a400ms-arrive-in-jodhpur-for-tarang-shakti\/article71509314.ece\/amp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><b>TH<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mission Pegase 26 is the seventh edition of France&#8217;s long-range air projection exercise.
