2026\u00a0 launched the National Digital Tourism Stack and the National Mission for Alternative Destinations \u00ad\u2014 \u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u00adDekho Apna Desh Campaign 2.0.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Digital Tourism Stack<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>open digital public infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> initiative aimed at making tourism offerings more discoverable, accessible and trustworthy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Developed by:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is being developed in collaboration with <\/span><b>Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the support of <\/span><b>International Centre for DPI Innovation and Advancement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ICDIA),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Features<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will enable <\/span><b>tourism providers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to make <\/span><b>their offerings available across participating platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s, supported by capabilities such as verified identities and supplier credentials, search and discovery, payments, ratings and grievance redressal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is envisaged as a collaborative effort involving the <\/span><b>Ministry, States, Union Territories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and industry, the programme will be <\/span><b>implemented in phases<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a pilot planned for January 2027.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Key Facts about National Mission for Alternative Destinations<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a mission for <\/span><b>distribution of tourism<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> demand and <\/span><b>promotion of lesser-known destinations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/dekho-apna-desh-initiative\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dekho Apna Desh<\/a> Campaign 2.0.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It seeks to <\/span><b>promote tourism-ready, lesser-known destinations across India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to diversify domestic tourist flows, improve visitor experience and create opportunities for local communities and tourism enterprises.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Four Pillars of the National Mission for Alternative Destinations<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Selection of destinations:<\/b> <b>States and Union Territories<\/b> <b>will nominate tourism-ready<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> destinations with a distinct appeal, adequate infrastructure and accommodation capacity to receive additional visitors, and willingness to share tourism data.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>The pilot themes:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Mountain alternatives, coastal and waterfront alternatives, heritage and cultural destinations, and regional pilgrimage alternatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Packaging of tourism products:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Selected destinations will be <\/span><b>developed into bookable tourism products and themed <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">itineraries integrating accommodation, transport, food, experiences and local activities.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The packages will <\/span><b>connect artisans, self-help groups, guides, food vendors<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and cultural groups with tourism opportunities, enabling greater participation by local communities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Joint promotion:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Destinations will be promoted through coordinated campaigns with States, Union Territories and <\/span><b>industry partners.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Data-driven management:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A <\/span><b>national tourism monitoring dashboard<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or framework will support destination management by tracking tourist footfall,
