His life covered India\u2019s freedom struggle, post Independence nation building, the 1965 India-Pakistan War and efforts towards food and milk self sufficiency. <\/span><b>Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti 2026<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also coincides with Gandhi Jayanti each year.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Lal Bahadur Shastri Birth Anniversary 2026<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year <\/span><b>Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti 2026 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will mark the <\/span><b>122nd Birth Anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It commemorates a leader associated with simplicity, accountability and national self reliance. Shastri served as Prime Minister from 9 June 1964 until 11 January 1966. His short tenure included the 1965 India-Pakistan War, agricultural reforms, food security measures and support for the White Revolution. His father, Sharada Prasad Srivastava, died when Shastri was young, leaving his mother Ramdulari Devi to raise the family.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Education and Shastri Title: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He studied at Kashi Vidyapith and completed his education in 1926. Between 1960 and 1963, India imported 15 million tonnes of US grains.
