{"id":12768,"date":"2023-07-04T11:32:46","date_gmt":"2023-07-04T06:02:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=12768"},"modified":"2025-04-01T21:34:01","modified_gmt":"2025-04-01T16:04:01","slug":"esaras-app","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/esaras-app\/","title":{"rendered":"eSARAS App"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About eSARAS App:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an <strong>e-commerce mobile app<\/strong> which will be used as a more effective platform for <strong>marketing <\/strong>of the products made by <strong>women of self-help groups.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is an initiative <strong>conceptualized by the DAY-NRLM<\/strong>, Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), towards the marketing of the best, authentic handicrafts and hand-looms.<\/li>\n<li>This initiative promotes the spirit of Vocal for Local even further with easier marketing of products prepared by SHGs.<\/li>\n<li>Along with that <strong>eSARAS Fulfillment Centre<\/strong> was also inaugurated.<\/li>\n<li>These centres\u00a0 will be managed by the <strong>Foundation for Development of Rural Value Chains <\/strong>(FDRVC &#8211; a Not for Profit Company constituted jointly by Ministry of Rural Development and Tata Trust).<\/li>\n<li>This centre will be used for processing, packaging and shipping of products that customers purchase through the eSARAS Portal and eSARAS mobile App.<\/li>\n<li>It will handle the logistics required to bring an online order to a customer&#8217;s doorstep.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Key Facts about DAY-NRLM scheme.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana &#8211; National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) is the <strong>flagship program of the Ministry of Rural Development.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Its aim is promoting poverty reduction through building strong institutions for the poor, particularly women, and enabling these institutions to access a range of financial services and livelihoods.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Key Features:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Universal Social Mobilisation:<\/strong> At least one woman member from each identified rural poor household, is to be brought under the Self Help Group (SHG) network in a time bound manner.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Participatory Identification of Poor (PIP): <\/strong>All households identified as poor through the PIP process is the NRLM Target Group and is eligible for all the benefits under the programme.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Community Funds as Resources in Perpetuity:<\/strong> NRLM provides Revolving Fund (RF) and Community Investment Fund (CIF) as resources in perpetuity to the institutions of the poor, to strengthen their institutional and financial management capacity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is a Self-Help Group?<\/h3>\n<p>Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are small, informal, and voluntary associations of individuals, usually from similar socio-economic backgrounds, who come together to address common social and economic needs.
