Recent agreements have expanded cooperation into migration and mobility, young professionals, defence, nuclear energy, transport and infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>India-Switzerland Relations Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>India-Switzerland Relations <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recently expanded bilateral cooperation during <\/span><b>Swiss President Guy Parmelin\u2019s visit to New Delhi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Agreements were signed on migration and mobility, young professionals and transport and infrastructure. India and Switzerland also agreed to strengthen defence production, military exchanges and nuclear energy cooperation. The India-EFTA TEPA, which entered into force in October 2025, remains central to economic engagement.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>India-EFTA TEPA<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>India-EFTA TEPA <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">connects India with Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland through a wider European trade partnership.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TEPA is a trade agreement between India and the four EFTA States. India is also Switzerland\u2019s third largest trading partner in Asia.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Swiss investment: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Switzerland invested approximately USD 4.781 billion in FDI equity in India between April 2000 and September 2019. It ranked as India\u2019s 12th largest investor and accounted for about 1.07% of total FDI.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Future investment sectors: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India seeks Swiss investment in biotech, life sciences, banking, insurance, food processing and sustainability.
