Logistics Authority"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Integrated Transport &amp; Logistics Authority Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister of India has approved the setting up of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) \u2014 Integrated Transport and Logistics Authority (ITLA).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Integrated Transport &amp; Logistics Authority<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will function as a <\/span><b>specialised institutional mechanism<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for research, planning, project appraisal, monitoring and impact <\/span><b>assessment across transportation and logistics.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Responsibilities of Integrated Transport &amp; Logistics Authority<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>National Apex Institution:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 ITLA will function <\/span><b>as the apex body for integrated transport and logistics planning<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, research, project appraisal and monitoring, policy support and data analytics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Long-Term National Transport Master Plan:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ITLA will <\/span><b>prepare a comprehensive National Transport Master Plan <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with a planning <\/span><b>horizon of ten years or more<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It covers roads, railways, ports and shipping, civil aviation, inland waterways, coastal shipping, urban mobility and logistics.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Integrated Planning Framework<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: ITLA will <\/span><b>evaluate short-term sectoral plans<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (5 years or so) and <\/span><b>annual plans of transport Ministries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to ensure their alignment with the National Transport Master Plan and promote multi-modal infrastructure development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Technical Appraisal of Major Projects:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It will undertake technical <\/span><b>appraisal of infrastructure projects of Government of India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>costing Rs.500 crore or more<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Monitoring and Impact Assessment:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 It will <\/span><b>monitor implementation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of <\/span><b>transport &amp; infrastructure projects above Rs.500 crore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and provide a coordinated mechanism to resolve issues.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>National Transport Data Repository (NTDR):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The repository will integrate transport and logistics data from multiple sources, including <\/span><b>GSTN e-way bills, FASTag, Vahan, GPS-based systems and urban traffic management systems.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The authority will use the integrated data for analytics, including <\/span><b>freight-flow and origin-destination analysis,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to support planning, project monitoring and impact assessment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It advises and assists for review and updation <\/span><b>of <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-logistics-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Logistics Policy (2022)<\/a><\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Promote Research &amp;
