The Account Aggregator facilitates this data flow without itself becoming the owner of the customer&#8217;s financial assets.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The system is designed around consent-based access to financial information, allowing users greater control over how their financial data is shared.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What Has the RBI Changed?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Until now, consolidated financial information was fragmented across different systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>Consolidated Account Statement (CAS)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> could provide information on either banking assets such as deposits or dematerialised holdings such as stocks, mutual funds and bonds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are around 17 Account Aggregators registered under the RBI\u2019s NBFC-AA category, operating separately across these financial-information ecosystems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The RBI has now allowed interoperability among Account Aggregators, meaning information can be aggregated across different AAs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The central bank has also facilitated SEBI-regulated depositories to include information relating to deposit accounts in their consolidated account statements.
