{"id":12804,"date":"2023-07-06T11:17:43","date_gmt":"2023-07-06T05:47:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=12804"},"modified":"2025-04-01T21:51:56","modified_gmt":"2025-04-01T16:21:56","slug":"jimex-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/jimex-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"JIMEX 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About JIMEX 2023:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is being conducted between <strong>India and Japan.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This edition marks the 11th anniversary of JIMEX, since its <strong>inception in 2012.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This exercise will witness the participation of <strong>INS Delhi, INS Kamorta<\/strong>, fleet tanker INS Shakti, a submarine, maritime patrol aircraft P8I and Dornier, ship-borne helicopters and fighter aircraft.<\/li>\n<li>The exercise will be conducted over <strong>six days in two phases.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A harbour Phase at Visakhapatnam comprising professional, sports and social interactions.<\/li>\n<li>The two navies will jointly hone their war fighting skills at sea and enhance their interoperability through complex multi-discipline operations in the surface, sub-surface and air domains.<\/li>\n<li>JIMEX 23 provides an opportunity to learn from each other&#8217;s best practices and facilitates operational interactions between IN and JMSDF to foster mutual cooperation and reaffirm their shared commitment towards maritime security in the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>What are the other Exercises between India and Japan?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Malabar:<\/strong> India and Japan with the United States and Australia participate in the naval war gaming exercise named Malabar.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SHINYUU Maitri<\/strong> (Air Force)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dharma Guardian <\/strong>(Military Exercise)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is INS Kamorta?<\/h3>\n<p>INS Kamorta is a warship of the Indian Navy. It is a Kamorta-class anti-submarine warfare corvette, built indigenously in India.
