{"id":128188,"date":"2026-10-09T13:54:29","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T08:24:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=128188"},"modified":"2026-10-09T13:54:29","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T08:24:29","slug":"prashast-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/prashast-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"PRASHAST Portal"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>PRASHAST Portal Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Department of School Education &amp; Literacy (DoSEL) organized the nationwide screening of a 30-minute Sensitization and Orientation Module on Inclusive Education for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) through the PRASHAST Portal in schools across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About PRASHAST Portal<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PRASHAST <\/span><b>(Pre-Assessment Holistic Screening Tool)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a <\/span><b>school-based disability screening tool.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for identifyi<\/span><b>ng children with probable disability conditions (21) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">covered under the <\/span><b>Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016 .<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It serves as an initial <\/span><b>screening and referral mechanism.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is designed for use by <\/span><b>regular teachers, special educators, counsellors<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and school heads involved in the screening and support of students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Structure<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>PRASHAST consists of two parts:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Part-1:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Initial screening conducted by regular teachers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Part-2:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Validation of observations and tentative identification of disability categories by special educators or counsellors.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Process<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teachers should observe students for a <\/span><b>minimum period of 1\u20132 months<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in various settings such as <\/span><b>classrooms, playgrounds, co-curricular activities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and social interactions before recording their observations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After screening, the observations are validated through the second-level screening process.
