text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BHASHINI, or the <\/span><b>BHASHa INterface for India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, is an artificial intelligence (<\/span><b>AI)-powered language translation platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> developed by the<\/span><b> Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) <\/span><b>under its National Language Translation Mission.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>aims to build a National Public Digital Platform for languages <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to develop services and products for citizens by leveraging the power of AI and other emerging technologies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to <\/span><b>help people translate content into various Indian languages.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BHASHINI also aims to <\/span><b>increase the content in Indian languages on the Internet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> substantially in the domains of public interest, particularly governance and policy, science &amp; technology, etc., thus <\/span><b>encouraging citizens to use the Internet in their own language.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>uses cutting-edge AI and natural language processing (NLP) technologies <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to bridge the language divide, enabling users to access content and services in their preferred language.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>implemented by Digital India BHASHINI Division<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a division <\/span><b>under Digital India Corporation,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a <\/span><b>Section 8 Company of the MeitY.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bhashini currently<\/span><b> supports more than 22 languages, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">enabling inclusivity for a broad range of linguistic communities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since its launch, it has <\/span><b>enabled features like text-to-text translation <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in 22 languages, <\/span><b>automated speech recognition, text-to-speech synthesis,<\/b> <b>optical character recognition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>video translation, document translation,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> language detection, and voice-based payments, among others.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bhashini <\/span><b>has an app <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which can be <\/span><b>used by people.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also<\/span><b> provides API (application programming interface) integration to startups <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which want to use Bhashini\u2019s language features on their platforms, such as chatbots, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This online platform also has a <\/span><b>separate \u2018Bhasadaan\u2019 section,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which <\/span><b>allows individuals to contribute to multiple crowdsourcing initiatives.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
