{"id":129043,"date":"2026-10-15T14:40:44","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T09:10:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=129043"},"modified":"2026-10-15T14:40:44","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T09:10:44","slug":"10th-national-convention-of-agrivision-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/10th-national-convention-of-agrivision-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"10th National Convention of Agrivision 2026, Farmers, Income"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>10th National Convention of Agrivisio<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n was held on <\/span><b>13-14 October 2026 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at the <\/span><b>ICAR-National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC), Pusa, New Delhi,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to discuss agricultural education, modern farming technologies, entrepreneurship and farmers\u2019 welfare.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About the 10th National Convention of Agrivision 2026<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>10th National Convention of Agrivision<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> brought together students, scientists, policymakers, agricultural entrepreneurs and farmers to discuss the future of Indian agriculture.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was organised under the aegis of Agrivision and the Agricultural Education Division of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/indian-council-of-agricultural-research-icar\/\" target=\"_blank\">Indian Council of Agricultural Research<\/a><\/strong> (ICAR).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Around 450 students from agriculture and allied sciences, representing 25 states, participated in the convention.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The inaugural session was attended by Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and Director General of ICAR.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other participants included senior ICAR officials, agricultural scientists and the vice-chancellors of Central Agricultural University, Imphal, and Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>10th National Convention of Agrivision 2026 Key Highlights\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 10th National Convention of Agrivision focused on improving farmers\u2019 incomes, promoting modern technologies and creating new opportunities in agriculture.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Market-oriented agriculture<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Aligning crop production with market demand and improving marketing and value addition to increase farmers\u2019 incomes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Agricultural diversification<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Combining food-grain cultivation with horticulture, medicinal plants, animal husbandry, fisheries, beekeeping and natural farming to create additional sources of income.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Modern farming technologies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Using <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/artificial-intelligence\/\" target=\"_blank\">Artificial Intelligence<\/a><\/strong> (AI), machine learning and robotics to improve farm efficiency and productivity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Agricultural education and entrepreneurship<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Encouraging students to pursue careers in agricultural research, teaching, extension services and entrepreneurship.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Regulation of agricultural institutions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Announcing plans to establish an Agriculture Council to monitor private agricultural colleges and address concerns about poor standards and fake degrees.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Growth in food production<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: The Agriculture Minister stated that India\u2019s food production increased by 49% between 2014 and 2024.
