The Commerce and Industry Minister recently launched the National Strategic Trade Command Centre (NSTCC) in New Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n
About National Strategic Trade Command Centre<\/b><\/h2>\n

It is a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the <\/span>monitoring, analysis, and governance<\/b> of <\/span>India\u2019s international trade ecosystem<\/b> through <\/span>integrated data analytics <\/b>and <\/span>evidence-based decision-making.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
At its core<\/span> is an <\/span>integrated analytics and visualisation platform<\/b> designed to <\/span>convert trade-related data into actionable insights.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
It was <\/span>developed <\/b>by the <\/span>Department of Commerce<\/b> under the <\/span>Ministry of Commerce and Industry.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
It will provide senior policymakers and government officials with a <\/span>consolidated view of India\u2019s trade performance, export promotion schemes, regulatory approvals, application processing, <\/b>and <\/span>operational indicators.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
It enables users to <\/span>analyse information at multiple levels, <\/b>including national trade performance, Regional Authorities, schemes, products, destination markets, and individual applications, <\/span>subject to role-based access permissions.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
In its initial phase<\/b>, the command centre <\/span>brings together dashboards <\/b>covering key functions of the <\/span>Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT)<\/b> and related trade domains.\u00a0<\/span>\n

These include the <\/span>Importer Exporter Code (IEC), Advance Authorisation, Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG), Certificate of Origin (CoO), SCOMET<\/b> (Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies), <\/span>restricted imports and exports<\/b>, and other regulatory and trade facilitation processes.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
These dashboards will <\/span>enable monitoring<\/b> of <\/span>scheme utilisation, processing efficiency, export obligations, trade patterns, <\/b>and <\/span>operational performance across regional authorities.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
The initiative has <\/span>three main objectives:\u00a0<\/b>\n
\n
Improving the monitoring of trade and pending applications.<\/b><\/li>\n
Comparing the performance of schemes and regional offices.<\/b><\/li>\n
Using data to<\/span> identify procedural hurdles<\/b> and <\/span>simplify regulations.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
The centre will also help officials<\/span> identify export opportunities<\/b>, assess how effectively businesses are using India’s trade agreements, and <\/span>track the country’s position in international markets.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
It has been designed to <\/span>leverage existing digital infrastructure,<\/b> including<\/span> DGFT systems <\/b>and the <\/span>Trade Connect ePlatform.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
It will also provide a framework for the <\/span>phased integration of additional datasets <\/b>from other departments and trade-related agencies.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
Going forward, the NSTCC is<\/span> envisaged to evolve into a broader whole-of-government decision-support mechanism<\/b>, with phased access for authorised stakeholders, including relevant ministries, states, Export Promotion Councils, and other institutions. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
