{"id":12964,"date":"2023-07-10T08:15:36","date_gmt":"2023-07-10T02:45:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=12964"},"modified":"2025-04-01T23:12:51","modified_gmt":"2025-04-01T17:42:51","slug":"performance-grading-index-for-districts-pgi-d","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/performance-grading-index-for-districts-pgi-d\/","title":{"rendered":"Performance Grading Index for Districts (PGI-D)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Performance Grading Index for Districts (PGI-D):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It <strong>assesses the performance<\/strong> of the school education system <strong>at the district<\/strong> level by creating an index for comprehensive analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Based on the success of State PGI, <strong>83-indicator based<\/strong> PGI for District (PGI-D) has been designed to grade the performance of all districts in school education.<\/li>\n<li>The data is filled by districts <strong>through online portal.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is expected to help the state education departments to identify gaps at the district level and improve their performance in a decentralized manner.<\/li>\n<li>The indicator-wise PGI score shows the areas where a district needs to improve.<\/li>\n<li>PGI-D report for <strong>2018-19 and 2019-20 has been released<\/strong> so far, the current one is combined report for 2020-21 &amp; 2021-22.<\/li>\n<li>The PGI-D structure comprises of total <strong>weightage of 600 points across 83 indicators<\/strong>, which are grouped under <strong>6 categories<\/strong> viz., Outcomes, Effective Classroom Transaction, Infrastructure Facilities &amp; Student\u2019s Entitlements, School Safety &amp; Child Protection, Digital Learning and Governance Process.<\/li>\n<li>These categories are further <strong>divided into 12 domains<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>PGI-D grades the districts into ten grades viz., <strong>Highest achievable Grade is Daksh<\/strong>, which is for Districts scoring more than 90% of the total points in that category or overall.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>lowest grade<\/strong> in PGI-D is called <strong>Akanshi-3<\/strong> which is for scores upto10% of the total points. Ultimate objective of PGI-D is to help the districts to priorities areas for intervention in school education and thus improve to reach the highest grade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Digital learning?<\/h3>\n<p>Digital learning, also known as e-learning or online learning, refers to the use of digital technologies and resources to facilitate education and learning experiences.
