(GBS) outbreak has hit Madhya Pradesh\u2019s Neemuch district recently, with two deaths reported in Manasa town.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Guillain-Barr\u00e9 Syndrome (GBS)<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a rare <\/span><b>neurological disorder <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in which a person\u2019s <\/span><b>immune system mistakenly attacks <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">part of their<\/span><b> peripheral nervous system.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the <\/span><b>part of the nervous system outside the brain and spinal cord.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>controls muscle movement, pain signals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>temperature <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>touch sensations.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since the body&#8217;s own immune system does the damage, GBS is called an <\/span><b>autoimmune disease.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GBS is also<\/span><b> called acute inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (AIDP).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can occur at any age, but it<\/span><b> most commonly affects people between 30 and 50.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Guillain-Barr\u00e9 Syndrome (GBS) <\/b><b>Causes<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>exact cause<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the disease remains <\/span><b>unclear<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but it is <\/span><b>often observed following a viral or bacterial infection, vaccination, or major surgery.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At such times, the immune system becomes hyperactive, leading to this rare condition.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Guillain-Barr\u00e9 Syndrome (GBS) <\/b><b>Symptoms<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patients often <\/span><b>begin with an unknown fever, followed by weakness<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and other <\/span><b>nervous system-related symptoms.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can i<\/span><b>ncrease in intensity <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">over a period of hours, days, or weeks <\/span><b>until certain muscles cannot be used at all.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Some cases<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of GBS are <\/span><b>very mild <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and only marked by brief weakness. <\/span><b>Others cause nearly devastating paralysis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, leaving the person<\/span><b> unable to breathe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on their own.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is<\/span><b> potentially life-threatening. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People with GBS should be treated and monitored as quickly as possible<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Guillain-Barr\u00e9 Syndrome (GBS) <\/b><b>Treatment<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s <\/span><b>no known cure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for GBS.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Several <\/span><b>treatment options can ease symptoms<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and help speed recovery.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Most people
