style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Cabinet has approved the Khelo India Sports Goods Manufacturing Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Khelo India Sports Goods Manufacturing Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to promote <\/span><b>investment, manufacturing, innovation and exports<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and strengthen India&#8217;s position in the <\/span><b>global sports goods sector.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It provides support across the<\/span><b> sports goods manufacturing value chain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, from infrastructure and investment to research, skills, certification and market development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Time Period:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2026 to 2033-34.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has two parts: <\/span><b>incentives that support manufacturing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and interventions that <\/span><b>build the wider ecosystem.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Features of Khelo India Sports Goods Manufacturing Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Developing Integrated Manufacturing Zones:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> These zones will bring together manufacturers, suppliers, testing facilities, design and prototyping centres, and ancillary enterprises.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These will be developed through convergence with the <\/span><b>BHAVYA Scheme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>NICDC Industrial Parks.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Attracting Investment and Expanding Production:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The scheme earmarks a combined \u20b91,130 crore for <\/span><b>Anchor Investment Support and Turnover Linked Support<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Anchor Investment Support <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will encourage leading domestic and global manufacturers, brands and retail chains to <\/span><b>establish facilities in the designated zones.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Turnover Linked Support<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will incentivize higher production, capacity expansion and sustained manufacturing growth.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Upgrading existing clusters and supporting MSMEs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Existing sports goods manufacturing clusters will receive support for <\/span><b>upgrading common facilities and shared infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through cost-sharing with States, helping smaller enterprises strengthen their manufacturing capabilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Supporting international certification:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To improve access to international markets, \u20b9105 crore has been allocated to <\/span><b>help manufacturers obtain and renew certifications<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from <\/span><b>International Sports Federations.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Advancing research and start-up innovation:<\/b> <b>Centres of Excellence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in premier educational and research institutions will support research in sports equipment, material sciences, protective gear and advanced manufacturing technologies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Research co-funding<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be encouraged through convergence with the <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/anusandhan-national-research-foundation-anrf\/\" target=\"_blank\">Anusandhan National Research Foundation<\/a>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> DPIIT-registered sports start-ups will be eligible for grants of up to \u20b920 lakh.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Developing industry-aligned skills:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Skill development initiatives will be implemented in collaboration with the <\/span><b>Ministry of Skill Development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and<\/span><b> Entrepreneurship<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and relevant industry stakeholders to meet evolving workforce requirements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li
