400;\">Recently, the NITI Aayog launched the \u2018India Science and Technology (S&amp;T) Scoreboard.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About India Science and Technology Scoreboard<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>interactive data platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> aimed at mapping the country\u2019s <\/span><b>science and innovation ecosystem across states and Union Territories (UTs).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It enables policymakers to assess performance, identify gaps and compare their progress with other states.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is developed by <\/span><b>NITI Aayog\u2019s Science and Technology Division<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of India Science and Technology Scoreboard<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Information:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It will bring together <\/span><b>information on research institutions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, publications, patents, start-ups, research funding and state-level policies in one place.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>National Overview:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The platform will <\/span><b>provide a national overview<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of India\u2019s science and technology ecosystem, alongside state-wise profiles and benchmarking.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Users will be able to <\/span><b>compare any two states<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or UTs, examine their research output and assess their performance across sectors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Priority Areas:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It will also cover <\/span><b>11 priority research areas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of national importance, including clean energy, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, critical minerals and agriculture, allowing users to assess research output and compare progress across these sectors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Comprehensive Data:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The scoreboard will <\/span><b>capture data on central,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> state and private higher education institutions, R&amp;D laboratories, deep-tech startups, Atal Tinkering Labs, and research funding from central, state and private sources.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>For patents,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the platform will <\/span><b>provide information on applications filed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, patent strength, research areas and collaboration between states.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will also <\/span><b>document state science and technology<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, startup and innovation policies, along with notable practices that
