In temperate climates diphtheria tends to occur during the colder months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tetanus<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an infection caused by <strong>bacteria called Clostridium tetani.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>When these bacteria enter the body, they produce a toxin that causes painful muscle contractions.<\/li>\n<li>Tetanus bacteria are more likely to infect <strong>certain breaks in the skin<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It does not <strong>spread from person to person.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pertussis<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It is also known as <strong>whooping cough.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is a very contagious respiratory illness caused by a type of bacteria called <strong>Bordetella pertussis.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Whooping cough bacteria attach to the cilia (tiny, hair-like extensions) that line part of the upper respiratory system.<\/li>\n<li>The bacteria release toxins (poisons), which damage the <strong>cilia and cause airways to swell.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It can <strong>spread easily from person to person<\/strong> through the air.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Immunization?<\/h3>\n<p>Immunization, also known as vaccination or immunization, is a process by which a person is protected against certain infectious diseases.
