text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kargil Vijay Diwas, also known as <\/span><b>Kargil Diwas,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is celebrated annually on <\/span><b>July 26 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to commemorate <\/span><b>India\u2019s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The day celebrates the courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers who valiantly defended the nation\u2019s sovereignty.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The year 2025 marks the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Facts about Kargil War<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was fought between<\/span><b> India and Pakistan<\/b> <b>between May and July 1999<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the <\/span><b>Kargil district of Kashmir <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>along the Line of Control (LOC).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Cause<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an effort to ease these tensions, <\/span><b>India and Pakistan signed <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>Lahore Declaration <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in <\/span><b>February 1999,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which aimed <\/span><b>for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their objective was <\/span><b>to capture position<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s that <\/span><b>would allow them to monitor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and potentially control movements along the vital <\/span><b>NH 1A highway.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Initially<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>Indian military mistook these infiltrators for insurgents<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the scale of the infiltration became apparent,<\/span><b> India mobilized nearly 200,000 troops <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to counter the threat, leading to the onset of the Kargil War.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
