hailed armed forces\u2019 unity in Operation Sindoor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About INS Vikrant<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is India\u2019s first <\/span><b>indigenously designed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>manufactured aircraft carrier.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship has been designed in-house by the Indian Navy\u2019s <\/span><b>Warship Design Bureau <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and constructed by M\/s Cochin Shipyard Limited.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>commissioned<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> into the <\/span><b>Indian<\/b> <b>Navy in 2022.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of INS Vikrant<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a length of 262 metres and a width of 62 metres, the massive aircraft carrier boasts 14 decks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Displacement capacity:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Its full-load displacement is <\/span><b>43,000 tonnes.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Propulsion:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is powered by <\/span><b>four Gas Turbines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> totaling 88 MW of power and has a maximum speed of 28 knots.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Endurance:<\/b> <b>8,600 miles <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(13,890 kilometres) and it is capable of functioning independently for up to 45 days at sea.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is capable of operating an air wing consisting of 30 aircraft comprising <\/span><b>MIG-29K fighter jets, Kamov-31, MH-60R multi-role helicopters,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in addition to indigenously manufactured Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) and Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) (Navy).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using a novel <strong>aircraft-operation mode known as STOBAR<\/strong> (Short Take-Off but Arrested Landing), INS Vikrant is equipped with a ski- jump for launching aircraft and a set of \u2018arrester wires\u2019 for their recovery
