Thus, the islands are<\/span><b> threatened by any future sea level rise.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are <\/span><b>no rivers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Tuvalu\u2019s <\/span><b>climate is hot and rainy.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>With the exception of tiny Vatican City<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Tuvalu has the fewest inhabitants of any other independent nation.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Capital: Funafuti<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Languages<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Most people speak a language called <\/span><b>Tuvaluan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>English <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is widely used.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Currency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><b>Tuvalu dollar <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(equivalent to the Australian dollar)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Political System:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tuvalu <\/span><b>became independent from the United Kingdom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in October 1978.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It operates as a<\/span><b> parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarchy.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is part of the Commonwealth Realm, with King Charles III recognized as King of Tuvalu.
