conference.<\/li>\n<li>The earlier editions of WCC were held in London (2001), Brazil (2005), Guatemala (2010), and Ethiopia (2016).<\/li>\n<li>The event, to be jointly organised by the Coffee Board, Organisation<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a body set up in 1963 under <strong>the auspices of the United Nations<\/strong> to boost the economic importance of coffee globally.<\/li>\n<li>It is the only inter-governmental organisation for coffee and represents 93% of world coffee production and 63% of world consumption.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>India <\/strong>is a <strong>member<\/strong> of this organisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Key facts about Coffee cultivation<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The vast majority of the world\u2019s coffee comprises two species \u2014 <strong>Coffea Arabica<\/strong> (Arabica) and <strong>Coffea Canephora<\/strong> (Robusta).<\/li>\n<li>Climatic conditions required for coffee production\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Climate:<\/strong> Hot and humid climate for its growth.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Temperature:<\/strong> Ranging between 15\u00b0C and 28 \u00b0C<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rainfall:<\/strong> 150 to 250 cm.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Soil:<\/strong> <strong>Well-drained, loamy soil<\/strong> containing a good deal of humus and minerals like iron and calcium are ideal for coffee cultivation.<\/li>\n<li>It is generally grown under shady trees.<\/li>\n<li>Dry weather is necessary at the time of ripening of the berries.<\/li>\n<li>It is grown on hill slopes at elevations from 600 to 1,600 metres above sea level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coffee growing states in India:<\/strong> Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, among which, Karnataka produces the most with over 70% of
