{"id":13687,"date":"2025-08-14T13:07:48","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T07:37:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=13687"},"modified":"2025-08-14T14:02:32","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T08:32:32","slug":"indian-national-space-promotion-and-authorisation-centre-in-space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/indian-national-space-promotion-and-authorisation-centre-in-space\/","title":{"rendered":"IN-SPACe"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>IN-SPACe Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pune-based space tech startup Astrophel Aerospace recently signed a framework MoU with IN-SPACe, the Department of Space nodal body, to access ISRO facilities for technical reviews, system-level testing, and qualification support for semi-cryogenic propulsion systems, including turbopumps and engine modules<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About IN-SPACe<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) is a <\/span><b>single-window, independent, nodal agency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that functions as an <\/span><b>autonomous agency in the Department of Space (DOS).\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is formed following the Space sector reforms to enable and f<\/span><b>acilitate the participation of private players.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IN-SPACe is responsible to <\/span><b>promote, enable, authorize and supervise<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> various <\/span><b>space activities of non-governmental entities (NGEs)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including building launch vehicles &amp; satellites and providing space-based services; sharing space infrastructure and premises under the control of DOS\/ISRO; and establishing of new space infrastructure and facilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The agency acts as an <\/span><b>interface between ISRO and NGEs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and assesses how to utilize India&#8217;s space resources better and increase space-based activities.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also<\/span><b> assesses the needs and demands of private players, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">including educational and research institutions, and <\/span><b>explores ways to accommodate these requirements in consultation with ISRO.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Three Directorates viz., Promotion Directorate (PD), Technical Directorate (TD) and Program Management and Authorization Directorate (PMAD) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are carrying out the functions of IN-SPACe.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindubusinessline.com\/news\/science\/astrophel-aerospace-inks-mou-with-in-space-for-reusable-rocket-engine-development\/article69928634.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HBL<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IN-SPACe is an autonomous agency under DoS, enabling space sector reforms with a single-window for promoting and authorizing private space activities in India.
