{"id":13699,"date":"2023-08-04T06:19:43","date_gmt":"2023-08-04T00:49:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=13699"},"modified":"2025-04-02T06:31:57","modified_gmt":"2025-04-02T01:01:57","slug":"what-is-chd1l-gene","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-chd1l-gene\/","title":{"rendered":"What is CHD1L Gene?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About CHD1L Gene:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Chromodomain Helicase DNA Binding Protein 1 Like<\/strong> (CHD1L), which contains information to make proteins that allow the <strong>body to repair DNA damage.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>A variant of the CHD1L gene, specifically <strong>present in the African population,<\/strong> has been linked to the <strong>reduced viral load<\/strong> (amount of HIV in the blood) of the most common and virulent type of HIV, called HIV-1 (more common and severe retrovirus compared to HIV-2).<\/li>\n<li>They analysed the DNA of almost 4,000 people of African ancestry living with HIV-1 and found a gene variant CHD1L on chromosome 1.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>People carrying this <strong>variant had a low viral load<\/strong>.
